In ceremonies held Tuesday evening, November 1, 2016 at the Creekside Gospel Music Convention in Pigeon Forge, TN, the annual Diamond Awards were presented to honor outstanding achievements in gospel music.  The Diamond Awards are voted on by the fans and readers of the digital publication SGM Scoops, host of the awards show.  When Quartet of the Year was announced, Gold City found themselves the recipient. The Gadsden, AL-based group was on hand to personally accept the honor.
Daniel Riley says, “On behalf of Gold City, I want to thank the great folks at SGM Scoops for this recognition and for all they do for the gospel music industry.  We also want to thank all of those who voted for Gold City—this vote of confidence means more to us than any of you will ever know.   This has been a tough year for Gold City, both personally and professionally.  And while we know God has and will always continue to be faithful and in control, to have this ‘pat on the back,’ so to speak, from our faithful fans and friends is something that each man on our bus appreciates. We are grateful for the opportunity to share our music and the life-changing gospel with people all over the country, and we can’t wait for our fans to hear our new music we are in the studio working on right now.  Thank you once again for honoring Gold City as SGN Scoops Quartet of the Year. We are humbled and blessed.”
